In the end of January we got in contact with two Canadian Young Professional in the Fitness Industry who wanted their own small online shop in fitness apparel. After a few meet-ups to go over their ideas and preferences, we designed & built the website, which was our first e-commerce project as well. Read below the highlights of this project Laletics and a summary about our 5 design phases.

Annova Phase 1: Brainstorm about Requirements & Services
UNDERSTANDING NEEDS & GOALS OF THEIR NEW SHOP WAS CRUCIAL FOR SUCCESS
First of all, in phase 1 we sat down with the owners of this (brand new!) online shop to talk about their shop assets & goals, and therefor their wishes & expectations for the new website. The owners were both very experienced in the health & wellness industry and it was very inspiring to see them being so passionate about their field and reasons for starting this online shop. The shop needed to be simple and approachable. The owners wanted to have a website that is easy to self-maintain. Especially since they want to add new products every week and have full control over their shop with no middle man in between.
We brainstormed about their sitemap, content, images, functionalities & other needed services. Furthermore, they also wanted us to create their business logo. The project was of medium size and we set the timeline for 4 weeks.
Annova Phase 2: Content Creation & Website Design
WE CREATED A GENERAL TEMPLATE & CONCEPT FOR THE WEBSITE
In first two weeks the owners delivered us the content, including the images. We created their logo, and also determined a colour palette and overall look of the website based on this company logo and other wishes like a “feminine & modern” look. We had about one feedback moment per week to give them inside in the process and to ask feedback at the same time.
Phase 3: Quality Check
WE FULLY TESTED THE WEBSITE
After creating the entire online shop, we assessed the functionality and overall look in different browsers and mobile devices. Especially shopping & payment needed to be tested accurately with different accounts and from different countries. After one more feedback round, we made the website launch ready and set an official launch date.
Phase 4: Website Launch
THE OWNERS WERE SO HAPPY!
The online shop launched on May 1st and Annova made sure everything was 200% ready for the launch and the owners managed the rest!
Annova Phase 5: Training & Maintenance
CONTINUOUS MAINTENANCE KEEPS THEIR WEBSITE IN SHAPE
After the launch, we passed all the content & files to them as new owners of the website, and we also trained them in website management on their preferred location (4h). Finally, from that moment they have been managing the website themselves. Sometimes they ask for service to add or change something, but other than that they are very independent and happy with the results!
