Project NLC Fitness Centre

In November 2016 we got a request from Health Specialist Al Mursalin, owner of NLC Fitness Centre in Guelph, to re-design his business website. His existing website was developed a few years ago and needed an update regarding look, content and colours. Read below the highlights of this project NLC Fitness Centre and a summary about our 5 design phases.

Annova Phase 1: Brainstorm about Requirements & Services

UNDERSTANDING NEEDS & GOALS OF THEIR NEW BUSINESS WEBSITE WAS CRUCIAL FOR SUCCESS

First of all, in phase 1 we sat down with Al Mursalin, owner of NLC Fitness Centre to talk about his preferences, wishes & expectations for his new website. He had a clear idea of how he wanted the website to look. He is very experienced in the health & wellness industry and it was very helpful listening to him being so passionate and clear in what he wanted. At the same time, he really wanted us to be creative and expected us to come with an idea/concept that would fit his vision and the business’ atmosphere. The new website needed to be imaginary and eye-catching. He wanted us to focus on the visual aspect of the website. Visitors needed to right away get a “feeling” of how great, approachable and high-end NLC is.

We brainstormed about the new sitemap, content, images, functionalities & other needed services. Furthermore, he wanted us to take new pictures and some testimonial videos to implement in the website. The project was with its >25 pages, big amount of informative and image content, of big size and we set the timeline for 3 months.

Annova Phase 2: Content Creation & Website Design

WE CREATED A GENERAL TEMPLATE & CONCEPT FOR THE WEBSITE

In first six weeks one of the team members delivered us the informative content (health & fitness program that covered about 15 of the 25 pages). In those months we had the time to collect the images and take some new shots. We determined a colour palette and overall look of the website based on the company logo. We had about one feedback moment bi-weekly to give the team inside in the process and to ask feedback at the same time.

The end of the building process went unexpectedly faster than we planned for. Therefore the check of the entire website and final feedback moment could be done earlier.

Phase 3: Quality Check

WE FULLY TESTED THE WEBSITE

Halfway January we assessed the functionality and overall look in different browsers and mobile devices. Especially all the internal linking and also website speed needed to be tested accurately because there was a lot of content involved on many different pages. After one more feedback round, we made the website launch ready and set an official launch date, which was February 1st.

Phase 4: Website Launch

THE REACTION OF THE COMPLETE TEAM WAS AMAZING!

The new company website of NLC Fitness Centre launched on February 1st and Annova made sure everything was 200% ready for the launch. The team managed the rest, e.g. by sharing the launch on Social Media.

Annova Phase 5: Training & Maintenance

CONTINUOUS MAINTENANCE SHOULD KEEP THEIR WEBSITE IN SHAPE

After the launch, we passed all the content & files to NLC as new owner of the website, and we also (on site) trained the manager of NLC, Peter de Silva, in website management (2h). There are now able to update their blog (articles, testimonials) and to edit basic web pages if needed. Sometimes they ask for service to add or change something, but other than that they are very independent and happy with the results!
